August 19 What is The SCENE?See it here: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=1067965856&n=2 Vote for it on Thursday here: http://tv.msn.com/nytvf/contest/pitch "What TV needs is some music television… I’m not talking "pimp your cottage" or top 40, I’m talking about cutting edge, independent music scene through the eyes of the fans. We talk to the fans about the bands, the music, the scene - We take on the music industry head-on with an independent perspective. So, we go to a show in the middle of nowhere, of some independent local band and we find THIS girl in line: dark hair, dark glasses, dark attitude - And we ask, y’know, she’s not even there to see the headliners, she’s there to see the openers! So we ask her, why do you like this band, what other bands do you like, what’s ‘The Scene’ like? What’s your guilty pleasure? “Bon Jovi” - “Yani”? We get other interviews and insights: We get the dads who brough their kids, the oddballs, the diehards, and we ask THAT girl: What other shows are you going to see? Then we go to THAT show and we find a NEW fan for their insight, their bands, their opinions and the cycle begins again… In ONE episode we explore 6 fans, 6 bands, and 6 scenes We go from pop to punk to hip hop to hardcore…sometimes we go in circles and sometimes we end up wherever - We run into some of the same people and we meet NEW fans and their music in: The SCENE: 6 Degrees" See it here: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=1067965856&n=2 Vote for it on Thursday here: http://tv.msn.com/nytvf/contest/pitch August 18 What is this 'pitch' for? NYTVF? What? What is this 'pitch' for? NYTVF? What?
The NYTVF is the New York Television Festival. In its 2nd year, the NYTVF is like a film festival, but for Television Pilots. These 'pilots' that are entered in the competition are from 5 categories of Drama, Comedy, Reality, Documentary and Animation. Much like a film festival, they will be screened, judged, and voted on for awards in many different categories. The TV makers will gain exposure to the world of television and could possibly sell their pilot to a network or channel or studio to go into production, and make it on TV.
What ANDY is trying to accomplish with YOUR help and YOUR vote this Thursday, is a little different. Andy made no pilot, but he pitched his show in under 60 seconds. From 10,000 entries of 60 second pitches, 50 were chosen. Andy and The SCENE is 1 of those 50. This coming week, 10 pitches will be put online every day. You may only vote for a pitch on their ONE day. YOU can and your friends can vote for Andy and The SCENE on Thursday, and Thursday only!
